Dunlop Aircraft Tyres Business Spotlight

When you step off an airplane, it is overwhelming to think about the engineering and design that went into getting you to your destination. At Dunlop Aircraft Tyres, the prospect of a perfect product is the top priority. The Dunlop name has been around for over 130 years, and its products can be found on a number of automobiles and aircraft.

In 2014, the British tire manufacturer opened a retreading facility in Mocksville, and this is the first and only Dunlop retreading facility to be opened in the US. With the prospect of expansion, great location by I-40, and Mocksville’s strong workforce, the choice in location made perfect sense.

The facility in Mocksville allows existing tires to be safely restored to a functional state. Because the treads wear faster than any other part of the tire, retreading lets aircraft tires be in use for a longer period of time, which is economical and environmentally friendly.
